2021 Civic Action Fellowship Application, Continuing StudentsCivic Action Fellowship ApplicationThe Civic Action Fellowship at Dominican is a prestigious appointment for students with a passion for civic and community engagement. An AmeriCorps program, the Fellowship is the result of Dominican’s partnership with Governor Gavin Newsom and California’s Chief Service Officer, Josh Fryday, who announced the State-wide pilot on February 10, 2020, in Sacramento. Dominican is leading eight public and private institutions from the Bay Area to Los Angeles in pioneering the Fellowship program.Application Deadline: June 1, 2021The application process includes:Verification that you're a current Dominican studentSubmission of the Civic Action Fellowship Application and essayBenefits of the program include: Civic engagement while preparing for a career that positively impacts the community through a 10-unit service internship that is built into your degree plan so you stay on track to graduate while contributing meaningful work in the community, develop skills for a fulfilling career, and grow your local network.An Eli Segal Federal Education Award of aprox. $1,600 after completion of your internship.A scholarship for $2,500 awarded after completion of your internship.In order to qualify for the program, you must meet the following: Be a resident of California and U.S. citizenHave a strong background in community service/leadership or volunteer workNote: Due to the academic coursework required, students majoring in the following are not eligible to participate in the Civic Action Fellowship...
